Quiz Bowl 2026
Pacific MESA Quiz Bowl originated as a trivia-based competition sponsored by the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), specifically focusing on bringing awareness to students about diverse STEM professionals and their incredible accomplishments.
Quiz Bowl 2026 preliminaries will take place via Wayground (formerly called Quizizz) the week of October 19-23.
Students will be grouped by school; each school will receive a separate link for the quiz.
Points will be calculated after the preliminaries are closed and the top 4 scoring schools for Middle School and High School will move on to the semi-finals. The top scoring 4 students for each of the 4 Middle schools and 4 High schools will be the students participating in the semi-finals.
Quiz Bowl questions will include a mixture of science, math, history, general knowledge, and trivia questions. 15-20% of questions at both the preliminary and finals levels will be about diverse scientists and engineers.
Quiz Bowl 2026 finals will take place in person on November 12th at the Alumni House at University of the Pacific. Middle school finals will be from 4:00 pm-5:15 pm and High School Finals will be from 5:30-6:45 pm. Each finalist under 18 must bring at least one parent or guardian, but is welcome to bring their family. We have limited space due to the smaller location. Please do not bring small children as they may distract the contestants during the matches. Snacks and beverages will be available.
Winners of the Finals will have their school name added to the Quiz Bowl trophy for their grade division and will receive medals. All competing finalists will receive a gift!
